Distinguished psychologist Alice Howland is being ravaged by an early onset of Alzheimer’s disease and slowly losing her identity, intelligence, and memories and she is desperately trying to remain “Still Alice.” How long can her husband John, her children Anna, Tom, and Lydia bear to see how the brilliant Alice slowly descends into a spiral of helplessness and hopelessness?
Julianne Moore stars as the titular Alice with Alec Baldwin as John, Hunter Parrish as Tom, Kate Bosworth as Anna, and Kristen Stewart as Lydia in “Still Alice” directed by and written by Wash Westmoreland and Richard Glatzer based on the bestselling novel by Lisa Genova. Beautiful violin music was provided by Ilan Eshkeri and amazing cinematography was done by Denis Lenoir.
“Still Alice,” now available for viewing on putlocker.is, won Moore her Oscar for Best Actress and she deserves it for having turned a sensitive performance of an Alzheimer’s disease-stricken highly gifted woman who descends into mental uselessness. While the rest of the characters in this film look and act like the token family members in a family drama, Moore more than makes up for their lackadaisical performances.
